Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks a Therapeutic Assistant to join the 1N Acute Care Unit, a 14-bed adult intensive care psychiatric unit. You will work under a registered nurse to deliver patient care per the multidisciplinary plan, support admissions/discharges, ensure safety, and assist with ADLs and the therapeutic program.

Minimum education includes a HS diploma or equivalent, with potential for higher education requirements for advancement.

Qualifications

• Therapeutic Assistant I - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Therapeutic Assistant II - Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or closely related field, or high school diploma and 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related healthcare required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a registered nurse, provide patient care as directed by the treatment plan.
• Assist with admissions on discharge, monitor safety, support daily living activities, and guide therapeutic program activities.
