Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) in South Carolina seeks a Therapeutic Assistant to provide patient care under RN direction in an acute care psychiatric setting. The role supports daily living activities, safety, and discharge planning within the 14-bed 1N Acute Care Unit on the first floor of the Institute of Psychiatry building.

Requires Therapeutic Assistant I/II training and BLS/TACT certifications; shifts include day work and some weekend/holiday coverage, with hourly pay and 36

Qualifications

Minimum Training and Education: Therapeutic Assistant I requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Therapeutic Assistant II requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field, or a high school diploma and 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related healthcare.

Responsibilities

The Therapeutic Assistant reports to the Nurse Manager and provides patient care under the direction of a registered nurse as directed by the treatment plan.
Assists with patient admission and discharge processes; monitors and maintains safety of the therapeutic environment.
Supports activities of daily living and the therapeutic program as part of the care team.

Education

Therapeutic Assistant I - High School Diploma or equivalent
