Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• BSN within 5 years of hire.
• 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Virginia; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed patient assessments, interventions, education, and care coordination on an acute neuroscience unit.
• Care for patients with neurological conditions including brain tumors, hydrocephalus, stroke, MS, seizures, TBI and headaches.
• Collaborate with neurology, stroke, neurosurgery and neuro-trauma teams to implement care plans.
• Monitor for changes in neurologic status and escalate as needed.
• Support patients and families through recovery and end-of-life care with compassionate communication.
• Contribute to a team culture rooted in collaboration and clinical excellence.
