UVA Health in Charlottesville seeks a Registered Nurse for the 6 West neuroscience unit. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care in a high-acuity setting, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and contribute to evidence-based practice in neurology, neurosurgery, stroke, and neuro-trauma.
This wage position offers six 12-hour shifts in a 6-week cycle, with no on-call requirements and opportunities to pick up extra shifts.

This role offers the flexibility of a wage position within a high-acuity, 30-bed neuroscience unit. You will work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of neurological conditions while maintaining control over your schedule.
As a Registered Nurse on 6 West, you will practice in a fast-paced acute care neuroscience environment that blends advanced clinical care with meaningful patient and family interactions. This unit supports patients across neurology, neurosurgery, stroke, and neuro-trauma populations, creating a dynamic and intellectually engaging practice setting.

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
