UVA Health’s 6 West Neuroscience unit in Charlottesville seeks an experienced RN to deliver comprehensive care to a diverse neuroscience patient population on a steady, clinically engaging floor.

You will assess, educate, coordinate care across neurology, stroke, neurosurgery, and neuro-trauma teams, prioritizing patient-centered communication and collaborative, evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed patient assessments, interventions, education, and care coordination on an acute neuroscience floor.
• Care for patients with neurologic conditions including stroke, tumors, TBI, and seizures.
• Collaborate with neurology, stroke, neurosurgery, and neuro-trauma teams to implement care plans.
• Monitor neurologic status and escalate when appropriate.
• Support patients and families with compassionate, patient-centered communication.
