Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience in an acute care Surgery Department and be able to perform as the scrub personnel in all specialties.
• Six months experience may be substituted if the candidate has completed an ORT externship on-site within the last year.
• If Military trained, in lieu of ORT Certification/NCCT, a minimum of 10 years of Military Surgical Tech Experience is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• American Heart Association BLS Certification (BLS-CPR)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the surgical team during procedures.
• Safely handle and operate surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain proficiency with specialized tools (CUSA Neuro Suction Irrigator, microscopes, drills, saws, autoclaves, instrument washers).
• Adhere to manufacturer instructions and Medical Center policies.
• Demonstrate strong judgment, adaptability, and communication skills.

Operating Room Technician Training Course (preferred)
