St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare and maintain the sterile field for procedures and support the surgical team throughout operations.
Responsibilities include setting up the sterile operating room, organizing instruments, assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists, and managing sterile supply flow with strict adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols.
As a Surgical Technologist, you will be a central figure in the operating room team, meticulously preparing and maintaining the sterile field for surgical procedures and actively anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Every day, you will expertly set up the sterile operating room, meticulously organize instruments and supplies according to surgeon preference cards, and assist the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist during procedures. You will also manage the sterile supply flow, perform accurate surgical counts, and ensure strict adherence to aseptic technique and all safety protocols from pre-operative preparation through post-operative cleanup.
To be successful in this role, you will combine exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterile procedures, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to anticipating needs, and a collaborative spirit, all dedicated to supporting positive patient outcomes and seamless surgical operations.
