Job summary

Advocate Health Cabarrus is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat adult patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in an acute care setting. You will participate in a multidisciplinary team and provide therapy across multiple units, including stroke and critical care.

The role requires a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, an active SLP license, and a minimum of one year of experience, with BLS required per policy.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• State license to practice SLP required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience required.
• BLS per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers speech-language pathology programs in acute care settings.
• Provides direct therapy to patients across multiple units including stroke and neurology.
• Documents evaluations, notes, and discharge summaries.
• Re-evaluates patients and updates care plans as status changes.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and therapy teams to optimize outcomes.
• Supervises Rehab Technicians, volunteers and students.
• Ensures patient safety and discharge planning in a fast-paced hospital environment.
