Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat adults with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders across acute care units. You’ll collaborate with physicians, nursing, therapy teams and care management in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requires Master’s in SLP, state licensure, and 1 year of experience; BLS. 40 hours/week, weekdays with potential weekend/holiday requirements. Not eligible for Clinical Fellowship.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• State license as an SLP required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience; BLS per policy.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts speech-language pathology programs to restore function and independence.
• Supervises Rehab Technicians, volunteers and students.
• Provides direct therapy services daily, including holidays, across acute care units.
• Gathers and interprets data from medical records and physicians.
• Documents evaluations, treatment notes, and discharge plans.
• Communicates progress to physicians and care team.
