Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse to diagnose and treat health issues through nursing methods and coordination with interprofessional teams. The role emphasizes direct patient care, care plan development, and patient education within an acute hospital setting.

The RN will assess patients, coordinate with health disciplines, administer medications, ensure infection control, and document care and teaching in the medical record. Excellent teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible to practice as an RN in New York State.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred;one year hospital acute care experience preferred.
• OB/AH certifications (RNC-OB, RNC-IAP, C-EFM, C-OBE, NRP/BLS) are desirable.

Responsabilités

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing needs; coordinate with other disciplines.
• Develop a written individualized care plan including discharge planning.
• Administer direct nursing care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the team and document education.
