Job summary

Desert Valley Hospital in Southern California is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit. The RN will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process and address patient and family teaching needs.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS within hire period, and basic arrhythmia interpretation. Prior acute care and ventilator management experience are preferred; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results and symptoms.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
