Job summary

Tenet Desert in Indio, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry for nights on the Surgical Tower Unit. The RN will monitor patients on telemetry, administer medications, document care and respond to changes in patient condition using the chest pain protocol.

The ideal candidate holds a California RN license, has telemetry experience, and is proficient in EKG monitoring and medication calculations. Sign-on bonus available based on experience.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required.
• Telemetry and EKG monitoring experience preferred.
• Ability to calculate medications and fluid dosages.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care.
• Provide telemetry care on the Surgical Tower Unit with chest pain protocol.
• Monitor patients and respond to changes in condition, including hypotension and dysrhythmias.

The professional nurse on the Surgical Tower Unit uses the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care. The professional nurse considers the patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, language barriers, age, teaching needs, and readiness to learn. The professional nurse demonstrates knowledge of EKG monitoring and treatment of hypotension and dysrhythmias. The professional nurse demonstrates knowledge of commonly used medications and possesses skill in calculating medications and fluid dosages. The professional nurse follows the hospital chest pain protocol. The professional nurse demonstrates knowledge of physiologic changes and common complications associated with specific disease states.
