Job summary

STHS Edinburg is seeking a Registered Nurse to manage patients with medical or surgical needs, providing leadership in assessment, planning, and evaluation of care. The RN will ensure safe, high-quality nursing in alignment with facility policies and will collaborate with the healthcare team across departments. Weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts may be required.

Texas license (compact) and BLS are required; BSN preferred; must maintain certifications per AHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a registered nurse license in Texas or a compact state.
• Two years full-time RN or three years part-time RN in acute care.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Adhere to the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Handle with Care within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or procedures.
• Provide safe, competent nursing care per facility policies.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and ancillary departments; resolve concerns.
• May require working weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and on-call shifts.
