Job summary

Trinity Health, MercyOne Genesis Aledo Medical Center, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 12 Hour Night Shift. The RN will provide safe, evidence-based, culturally competent care for acute medical and surgical patients, supervise the nursing team, and collaborate with physicians and ancillary staff.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, care planning, coordination, discharge planning, telemetry management when needed, and maintaining safety and quality standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS required only if unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial patient assessment within 30 minutes of admission.
• Develops and implements outcome/goal-based care plans.
• Performs and delegates nursing interventions to team members.
• Coordinates plan of care with case manager and other disciplines.
• Documents discharge instructions and coordinates discharge planning.
• Manages telemetry monitoring when applicable and responds to arrhythmias.
• Ensures safety, infection control, and adherence to policies.
• Maintains age-appropriate patient care across units and shifts.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, and families to optimize outcomes.
• Provides ongoing reassessment and adjusts care as patient conditions change.
