Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a PRN Acute Care Physical Therapist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The role requires weekend and holiday coverage once fully trained, with some weekday availability during training, focusing on independent evaluation and varied treatment approaches.

Responsibilities include initial and ongoing assessments, treatment planning, documentation, and serving as a resource in acute care.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Maintains necessary continuing education for licensure.
• 1-2 years Clinical experience in a rehabilitation or acute care setting.
• DC Physical Therapist licensure or eligibility to obtain.
• BLS (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

• Provides effective and efficient care for patients in the acute care setting.
• Performs initial assessment, re‑assessment, treatment planning and implementation with timely documentation.
• Collaborates with the care team, participates in staff development and education activities.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation including interventions, progress notes and discharge planning.
