Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a PRN Acute Care Physical Therapist to join MedStar Washington Hospital Center. This role requires weekend and holiday coverage once fully trained, with some weekday availability during training.

The therapist will perform initial assessments, re-assessments, develop treatment plans, implement treatments, and document all patient care per professional standards. Collaboration with the care team and ongoing staff education are expected.

Qualifications

• DC licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in DC.
• BLS certification.
• 1-2 years clinical experience in rehabilitation or acute care.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial assessment, re-assessment, and treatment planning.
• Implement treatment plans and document patient care per standards.
• Determine equipment needs and assistive devices and wheelchairs as needed.
• Instruct and train patients and families; maintain area and equipment.
• Participate in team conferences and contribute to quality improvement.
