Job summary

University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is seeking Pharmacy Technicians for adult acute care across Central Pharmacy, sterile compounding, OR/CVC and AES. You will prepare non‑sterile and sterile products, fill dispensing cabinets, distribute medications to units, manage inventory and assist with resuscitation bays and training.

Required: high school diploma, Michigan Pharmacy Technician licensure (temporary license allowed up to 1 year), strong English communication, basic math and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform a wide range of physical activity and follow instructions with accuracy.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Current licensure meeting Michigan Pharmacy Technician requirements (temporary license valid 1 year or full license).
• Proficient communication, computer and basic math skills.
• Primary source verification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare non-sterile compounded pharmaceuticals.
• Prepare sterile products, injections and IV chemotherapy.
• Fill automated dispensing cabinets on nursing units.
• Distribute and account for controlled substances usage.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and surgical rooms.
• Stock medications and manage inventory dating.
• Prepare and deliver investigational drugs per protocols.
• Assist Pharmacist with auditing controlled substances.
