UPMC McKeesport is hiring a full-time Patient Care Technician for the 3 M Acute Care Unit. This position requires rotating weekend and holiday shifts to support patient care needs and maintain unit coverage.

The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, providing basic physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies, monitoring vital signs, glucose, I&O, and specimen collection, and reporting changes to the RN.

Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• EKG experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic nursing assistant tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Provide physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies.
• Provide feedback to the RN regarding patient care and report changes in patient status.
• Perform core nursing assistant tasks (blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, Foley care).
• Perform at least four BU identified tasks: phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, or IV catheter removal.
• Report equipment malfunctions and establish communication with other departments.
• Contribute to universal unit activities and respond to call lights and telephones, transport patients.
