Job summary

Loretto Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT participates in delivering care to patients in Medical/Surgical Telemetry and Critical Care Unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA, EMT-B, EMT-P or PCT Certification required.
• 6 months+ experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry/ Critical Care fields.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous service to patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and other internal/external customers.
• Transport patients, lab specimens and other as assigned.
• Follows established emergency, infection control and universal precautions procedures.
• Maintains the desk including order entry, charges, ordering supplies, and telephone etiquette.
• Responds to the needs of the department and assists others to ensure continuity of services.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage patients of all ages or patients with special needs.
