Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for its Acute Care Surgical Services unit. You will provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under supervision, monitor conditions, document vitals, assist with feeding and mobility, and help maintain a safe, clean unit.

Strong teamwork and adherence to policy are essential for success. Eligibility includes a high school diploma and CPR/BLS; CNA licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHA BLS HCP certification preferred.
• CNA licensure/certification preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience or clinical nursing coursework with rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate direct care under RN or licensed practitioner direction.
• Monitor patient conditions and relay updates to health care team.
• Record admissions data, vitals, intake/output and other patient information.
• Assist with specimen collection and basic patient care tasks.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and comply with policies.
• Attend mandatory in-services and trainings; participate in safety initiatives.
