Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support an acute care unit. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, monitor conditions, collect data, and help with hygiene, mobility, and safety.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and certification such as AHA BLS HCP. Prior healthcare experience is preferred. Rotating shifts and a fast-paced environment are expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient data collection and documentation (vital signs, intake/output, changes in condition).
• Ability to assist with feeding, hydration, and nutrition; provide safe, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate care under supervision.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and communicate updates to the health care team.
• Assist with hygiene, mobility, safety, and daily activities; maintain clean, stocked environment.
