Job summary

Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Care Rehabilitation team in a fast-paced adult bedside setting. You will work across a range of medical conditions to help patients regain independence and ensure safe transitions of care.

The role involves supervising OT assistants and students, developing treatment plans, documenting progress, and coordinating with physicians and staff to optimize discharge planning and home programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in OT from an accredited OT program.
• Applicable state OT license required.
• BLS certification required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises OT staff, assistants, students and volunteers involved in patient care.
• Evaluates patients and develops plans including modalities, exercises and education.
• Gathers data from medical records and coordinates devices and goals.
• Documents evaluations, tests, progress notes, discharge plans and charges.
• Re-evaluates patients and adjusts goals as status changes.
• Communicates progress to physicians and coordinates treatment and discharge planning.
• Provides patient and family education with home program instructions.
