Job summary

Atrium Health in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor/Manager to oversee acute care nursing within a clinical unit. The role requires a BSN, RN license, and strong leadership to coordinate staff and ensure patient-centered care.

You will work with the Nurse Manager on scheduling, hiring, performance management, quality initiatives, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN and current RN license in North Carolina.
• Two years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• BCLS required; ACLS/PALS/PEARS may be required within one year in select areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensures care delivered with respect for patient rights and culturally competent practice.
• Serves as staff and patient advocate to ensure optimal patient care.
• Promotes quality improvement and collaborates on policy development and evaluation.
• Maintains a culture of safety and coordinates QC/PI activities.
• Audits and maintains clinic metrics aligned with organizational goals.
• Collaborates with Nurse Manager on hiring, performance management, and staffing plans.
• Plans, schedules, and delegates assignments to optimize personnel, space, and facilities.
• Monitors credentialing, education, and experience to match patient needs.
• Maintains unit inventory and supports management reports and budget recommendations.
• Performs competency for point of care testing as assigned and ensures regulatory compliance.
