Job summary

UCI Health in California seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by performing vital sign measurements, hygiene assistance, and patient care tasks. You will help maintain a safe, clean unit and assist with stocking supplies and routine clerical duties.

Applicants should have knowledge of basic medical terminology, be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and hold a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• CNA certification or enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Read, write, and speak English effectively.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate therapeutically.
• Experience in patient care, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) on hire.

Responsibilities

• Aids professional and technical nursing staff by performing duties related to patient care.
• Takes and records vital signs, assists with hygiene and elimination, and maintains a clean, safe unit environment.
• Assists with stocking unit supplies, operates hospital equipment as directed, and performs routine clerical tasks.
• Supports other related duties as assigned.
