Job summary

George Washington University Hospital, a major teaching hospital in downtown Washington, DC, seeks an RN with BSN and strong leadership to oversee operations in the absence of the director. You will optimize staffing, resource use, and patient flow to ensure high-quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• BSN
• 5 years nursing experience in acute care facility
• Previous nurse management experience
• Previous HOS experience preferred
• Professional experience that demonstrates a progressive leadership background
• Nurse Career Battery (Only for employees hired for/or promoted into Registered Nurse position after October 15, 2008)
• Certification in specialty preferred
• Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the managerial aspects of all areas in the hospital in the absence of the unit/department Director or Administrator.
• Assist in ensuring appropriate staffing/resource consumption as well as a positive and safe patient experience.
• Facilitates patient flow.
