Job summary

Ochsner Health in Lafayette, LA is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a collaborative team delivering high-quality outpatient and inpatient care. You will work under Medical Director supervision with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators to plan and implement patient management and education.

The ideal candidate will hold an APRN degree or PA license, be proficient with clinical software, and be able to travel between facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and role-specific software.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration abilities.
• Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols.
• Reliable transportation to travel across facilities.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekends, holidays, on-call).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the approved medical practices process in patient care delivery.
• Provides care across physical, psycho/social, educational, safety criteria for patient ages.
• Maintains inquiry toward medical practices and patient outcomes; may develop research methods.
• Provides education to patient families, staff, and community.
• Adapts communication style to patient population and privacy considerations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
