Job summary

Ochsner Health in Lafayette, LA seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver comprehensive patient care in an outpatient setting. You will work under Medical Director supervision with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and provide education to patients and families.

Minimum requirements include a Master’s or Doctorate in APRN or PA-related field, with ACLS/BCLS certifications and prescriptive authority eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
• Certification as Acute Care NP or Acute Care CNS by AACN/ANCC.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the approved medical practices process in patient care.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety criteria for patients of all ages.
• Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and outcomes; may develop research methods.
• Provides education to patient families, staff and the community.
