Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed LVN/LPN with current license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be required in some areas.
• Experience in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse administers medication and provides care as prescribed.
• Communicates patient status and changes to the RN and care team.
• Assists with pain management and patient/family education.
• Administers medications following the five rights of administration.
• Assists with rehabilitation and treatment plans as directed by the RN.
• Supports physicians with examinations and procedures as needed.
• Treats patients and families with respect and addresses psychosocial needs.
• Interacts professionally with patient/family and participates in care planning.
• Coordinates with Social Services/Discharge Planner for discharge needs.
• Ensures patient safety and reduces errors in a fast-paced environment.
