Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LVN/LPN program.
• Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse license.
• BLS Certification required.
• Intravenous Therapy and Blood Certifications preferred.
• ACLS may be required in certain care areas.
• Minimum six months’ prior experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications under RN supervision and follows the five rights of medication administration.
• Assists with rehabilitation and treatment per the plan of care and updates as directed.
• Communicates with the RN about patient status, symptoms, and changes in condition.
• Supports pain management techniques and educates patients and families.
• Interacts professionally with patients and families, respecting cultural and psychosocial needs.
• Performs tasks to ensure patient safety and reduce care errors.
