Capital Region Health in Largo, Maryland is seeking an experienced ACES Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our surgical services team. This full-time day position offers care for trauma, acute care surgery, and critically ill surgical patients.

You will collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, nurses, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care, with opportunities for cross-training across additional APP service lines and a strong focus on professional growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and graduation from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program with current NCCPA certification and Maryland licensure.
• Current certification and licensure to practice as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Maryland.
• Credentialing through the UM Capital Region Health Medical Staff Office; BLS and ACLS certifications.
• ATLS certification required (may be obtained after hire) and participation in approved CME programs.

Responsabilités

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services to critically ill and surgical patients.
• Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Conduct daily rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary patient care.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing and imaging studies.
• Formulate diagnoses and implement treatment plans.
• Manage trauma and acute surgical patients throughout hospitalization.
• Communicate effectively with attending physicians, consulting services, nursing staff, patients, and families.
• Perform advanced procedures within approved privileges, including central venous catheter placement and chest tube insertion.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations.
• First assist in the operating room.
