Job summary

MedStar Health seeks a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to serve as first assist across General, Plastic, GYN, limb salvage, and vascular surgeries. You will manage perioperative care, order labs, perform histories and exams, and participate in inpatient rounds and post-discharge planning.

ACNP credentials required; FNPs not accepted. Maryland/DC licensure eligible; RNFA course completion preferred.

Qualifications

• ACNP requirement for this role; FNP not accepted.
• CPR certification required.
• Eligible for Maryland and DC licenses.

Responsibilities

• First Assist in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, GYN, Limb Salvage and Vascular surgery procedures.
• Perioperative patient management.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic labs.
• Conducting surgical history and physical exams.
• Inpatient rounding and consultations.
• Wound care and bedside procedures under supervision.
• Medication reconciliation and arrange post-discharge follow up.
