Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a clinician to manage patient care under general supervision. The role requires PA or Adult NP certification and licensure in Maryland, with CPR and ACLS credentials preferred. One year of acute care experience is favored.

The successful candidate will train staff, conduct initial evaluations, document care, and coordinate referrals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Physician Assistant Program OR Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant or as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the Maryland boards.
• CPR course completion (Healthcare Provider).
• ACLS course completion (Healthcare Provider).
• One year acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trains staff to receive and screen visitors and telephone calls.
• Initial evaluation and treatment of admitted surgical patients, excluding emergencies.
• Perform admission history and physical with documentation.
• Write orders within approved delegations.
• Discuss findings with attending physician and nursing staff and adjust treatment.
• Evaluate patient progress and alter treatment modalities as needed.
• Make daily rounds to assess medical, social and educational needs.
• Refer to appropriate departments and community resources; document progress.
• Write daily progress notes and treatment plans.
• Document results of technical functions and monitor patient response.
