Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a Physician Assistant or Adult Nurse Practitioner to manage admitted surgical patients under supervision. You will perform admission H&P, write orders under delegation, and coordinate with attending physicians to adapt treatment plans. Daily rounds and comprehensive documentation are required.

Minimum education includes PA or NP program completion with active Maryland licensure. CPR and ACLS certifications are mandatory; acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Physician Assistant Program OR Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant or as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the Maryland boards.
• Completion of "Healthcare Provider" CPR course.
• Completion of “Healthcare Provider” ACLS course.
• One year acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trains staff to receive and screen visitors and telephone calls.
• Performs admission history and physical and writes orders as delegated.
• Evaluates patient progress with attending physician and adjusts treatment as needed.
• Makes daily rounds to assess medical, social and educational needs.
• Documents findings, treatment plans and progress notes for ongoing care.
