Qualifications

• Successful completion of Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Adult Nurse Practitioner in Maryland.
• ACLS and CPR healthcare provider certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assumes initial evaluation and treatment of admitted surgical patients.
• Performs admission H&P and writes orders within delegations.
• Discusses findings with attending physician and nursing staff.
• Trains staff to receive visitors and calls; documents progress.
• Evaluates patient progress and adjusts treatment with the team.
• Makes daily rounds to address medical, social and educational needs.
• Initiates referrals to ancillary departments and community resources.
• Writes progress notes and treatment plans; documents results.
