Job summary

The Hartford in Charlotte is seeking an AD & Associate Actuary to support the Spectrum actuarial team. You will help refine rate indications, update class plans, and enhance pricing analytics using SQL, R, and Python.

The role blends technical modeling with collaboration across underwriting and product teams in a hybrid office setting. You will mentor junior colleagues, tackle complex problems, and contribute to countrywide rate strategy while advancing your actuarial exams and staying current

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in a quantitative field.
6–7 actuarial exams and 4+ years of experience.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive, detail oriented with strong time management.

Responsibilities

Support Loss Development Factors, Trend Selections, and Pricing Assumptions updates.
Assist rollout of Spectrum class plan to states and price factors like deductibles.
Prepare slides for monthly leadership updates on New Business and profitability.
Collaborate with Underwriting & Product teams on ad hoc analytic requests.
Utilize SQL, R, Python to enhance analytics.
Lead and mentor junior team members to foster collaboration.
