Job summary

THREE Insurance, part of the Berkshire Hathaway group, seeks an Associate Actuary in Stamford, CT, to lead pricing, analyses, and product development for assigned lines. The role offers in-depth exposure to underwriting and product teams and a path toward FCAS candidacy.

You will work on rating, policy administration systems, and regulatory filings while mentoring junior analysts and shaping actuarial processes. This hybrid role requires two in-office days weekly.

Qualifications

• Approaching ACAS designation and pursuing FCAS.
• 5+ years of actuarial pricing/reserving experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
• Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, VBA, or similar data analysis tools.
• Prior experience with rate filings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead rate indications, reserving analyses, profitability studies, and other actuarial projects across lines.
• Provide actuarial support across a diverse product set including perils like flood and earthquakes.
• Support development and filing of rate changes with regulatory bodies.
• Mentor junior analysts and influence decisions across teams.
• Maintain documentation enabling reproducibility of work.
