UPMC Health Plan seeks an actuary to drive high-visibility analysis and develop medical cost improvement strategies across the organization. The role analyzes medical cost utilization and unit costs, identifies trend drivers, and presents findings to leadership.

You will influence cross-functional teams in a non-traditional actuarial environment and may supervise junior analysts. Remote work or hybrid arrangement is available for Pittsburgh-area candidates.

Qualifications

• ASA certification by the Society of Actuaries or FSA status is required.
• Experience with HCG Grouper software and data validation is preferred.
• Strong claims-based analysis and trend analysis experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead development of actuarial and financial tools to inform decisions and cost mitigation.
• Oversee implementation and QA of the HCG Grouper software and data validation.
• Support enterprise rollout of HCG Grouper data and knowledge transfer to business partners.
• Analyze impacts of affordability initiatives on medical cost and utilization trends.
• Summarize large healthcare data to deliver actionable insights to leadership.
• Forecast financial results and identify medical cost improvement opportunities and risks.
• Guide documentation and reporting of actuarial analyses to management.
