Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is offering an actuarial internship in our Naperville, Illinois location for the summer of 2027. The internship runs May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027 with a hybrid schedule (office Mon-Wed, remote Thu-Fri).

Responsibilities include preparing actuarial reports, learning rate development, shadowing experts, and supporting the team as needed. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work out of Naperville, IL office without housing or relocation assistance.
• Must complete the entirety of the 10-week internship (May 24, 2027 – July 30, 2027).
• Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Graduate student in Actuarial Science or related field.
• Analytical thinking skills.
• Problem solver with strong communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work independently.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Job description

IAT Insurance Group has an opening for an Actuarial Internship within our Actuary Business Unit in our Naperville, Illinois location for the summer of 2027.

The internship is scheduled to begin on May 24th, 2027 and conclude on July 30th, 2027. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

• Prepare actuarial reports supporting month-end Operations reviews.
• Learn the functions relating to rate development.
• Shadow subject matter experts
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Must Have:

• Must be able to work out of our Naperville, Illinois office without housing assistance or relocation assistance from IAT Insurance Group.
• Must be able to complete the entirety of the 10-week internship program (May 24th, 2027 to July 30th, 2027)
• Rising Sophomore, Junior graduating Senior or Graduate student of Actuarial Science or related degree.
• Analytical thinking skills.
• Problem Solver.
• Strong communication skills both with Technical and non-technical resources.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently.
• To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Compensation

Please note, that the hourly pay rate associated with this posting is $21 – $24. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base hourly pay for this position. Actual hourly rates will vary based on factors such as a candidate's class standing, major, and geographical location. The total compensation will include base pay, 401(K) match, and more.
