Job summary

IAT Insurance Group invites students to join its Actuarial Internship in Naperville, IL for the summer of 2027. The program runs May 24 to July 30, with a hybrid work model: in the office Monday through Wednesday and remote Thursday and Friday.

Interns will support month-end operations with actuarial reports, learn rate development, and shadow experts. Eligibility requires US work authorization and enrollment in actuarial-related studies.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship now or in the future.
• Rising Sophomore, Junior, graduating Senior or Graduate student in Actuarial Science or related degree.
• 10-week internship from May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027.
• Hybrid schedule: in office Monday–Wednesday, remote Thursday and Friday.
• Must be able to work at the Naperville, Illinois office without housing or relocation assistance.

Job description

IAT Insurance Group has an opening for an Actuarial Internship within our Actuary Business Unit in our Naperville, Illinois location for the summer of 2027. The internship is scheduled to begin on May 24th, 2027 and conclude on July 30th, 2027. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:

Prepare actuarial reports supporting month-end Operations reviews. Learn the functions relating to rate development. Shadow subject matter experts Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Must Have: Must be able to work out of our Naperville, Illinois office without housing assistance or relocation assistance from IAT Insurance Group. Must be able to complete the entirety of the 10-week internship program (May 24th, 2027 to July 30th, 2027) Rising Sophomore, Junior graduating Senior or Graduate student of Actuarial Science or related degree. Analytical thinking skills. Problem Solver. Strong communication skills both with Technical and non-technical resources. Willingness to learn. Ability to work independently.

Compensation:

Please note, that the hourly pay rate associated with this posting is $21 – $24. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base hourly pay for this position. Actual hourly rates will vary based on factors such as a candidate's class standing, major, and geographical location. The total compensation will include base pay, 401(K) match, and more.
