Job summary

Milliman's Mountain Gulf Health Practice is seeking motivated current college students or recent graduates for a seasonal internship (winter–spring) that can be full-time or part-time. Actuarial interns will perform data analyses to support consulting across health insurance areas such as Commercial/ACA, Behavioral Health, Risk Adjustment, Medicare Advantage and Part D, Medicaid, and more.

This program pairs interns with dedicated managers, emphasizes growth, and offers exposure to health care

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and returning to, or recently graduated from an accredited university.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics or another quantitative field.
• At least one SOA exam passed.
• Solid understanding of basic actuarial concepts.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to clean, synthesize, and analyze data and information.
• Communicate results to peers and project leaders.
• Review the work of peers.
• Prepare and document project files.
• Assist with research and business development projects.
• Gain experience working with health care data using various software applications.
