Job summary

American Modern invites motivated actuarial students to join its 2027 internship program. You will work with full-time actuarial analysts on real datasets, preparing data, running standard analyses, and performing Excel-driven tasks that support decision making.

You will gain exposure to actuarial methods, mentor-led guidance, and a hybrid work setup with 40–50% in the Amelia, Ohio office, plus opportunities to network with leaders across Munich Re.

Qualifications

• Must have passed at least one actuarial exam.
• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing Actuarial Science, Math or related field.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship.
• Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in our Amelia, Ohio office.
• Reliable transportation to commute to the office as required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare data for actuarial analysis.
• Support standard actuarial analyses and indications.
• Complete Excel-based analytical work.
• Apply coding skills, where helpful, to improve or support analysis.
