Job summary

Builders Mutual invites undergrad sophomores and juniors to join a focused Actuarial Intern Opportunity in Raleigh. You’ll analyze data, support pricing, reserving, and reporting while gaining hands-on experience with claims workflows and leadership mentoring.

Ten-week program combines in-person work onsite three days weekly with flexible remote options, plus shadowing, capstone, and community activities. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student, soph/junior pursuing Actuarial/Statistics/Math/CS/Data Science/Economics.
• Experience inside or outside school/work is helpful.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are desirable.

• Orientation & Capstone – orientation; present to executives.
• Training & Shadowing – exposure to claims and adjuster workflows.

Actuarial Intern Opportunity

Turn your love for math andcritical thinkingintofulfilling careerwith a joint internship in the Actuarial department.Identifying risks and trends by developing and projecting datais whatactuaries do. You will be able to develop an understanding of data analysis throughreporting, pricing,and reserving, to set a solid foundation for your future career as an actuary.

Internship Experience:

• Orientation & Capstone – Kick off with a one-week orientation; wrap up with a presentation to executives.

Skills to get theINTERNSHIPdone RIGHT:

• CurrentSophomore or Juniorundergrad student working towards a degree inActuarial, Statistics,Mathematics,Computer Science, Data Science,or Economics.
• You've got practical experience inside or outside of school or work.
• Leader, you have demonstrable experience (group projects and/or clubs plus engaged in class)
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and interpersonal
• Proven team player who takes the initiative and works with others to achieve team goals
• High-level analytical capabilities and a drive for critical thinking
• Knowledge of SQL, R, or Python, and/or experience is a plus.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), as well as the desire and capability tolearn new software or toolsquickly
• Ability to commit for 10 weeks (May 17- July 23) during the summer of 207, working37.5 hours perweek
• Willing to live or commute to Raleigh during your internexperience
