Job summary

PALMS Insurance, a NextEra Energy company, seeks an experienced actuary to lead actuarial pricing, reserving, and data analytics in collaboration with risk, underwriting, claims, finance, and operations to support overall business strategy.

The role requires 10+ years of actuarial experience and at least 4+ years in leadership, with a Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree is preferred for career progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of actuarial experience.
• 4+ years of leadership experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 15+ years of actuarial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates performance and pricing of insurance and reinsurance programs and analyzes their financial impact in coordination with catastrophe risk modeling teams
• Drives reserving process including initial expected loss ratios, loss development factors, and required IBNR reserves
• Establishes reserve practices for quarterly performance updates and supports preparation of internal and statutory financial reports
• Executes data analytics support for pricing, reserving, and modeling needs across risk and actuarial functions
• Builds complex specialty models with underwriting and claims teams to assess risk exposures and develop pricing strategies
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
