PALMS Insurance, a NextEra Energy company, seeks an AVP, Underwriting for the Specialty Lines team. You will manage a portfolio, drive new business, and supervise underwriting decisions across complex non-commoditized risks.

The role requires deep technical knowledge, leadership, and a consultative approach with cedents and partners. You will lead pricing, risk selection, and portfolio management, collaborating with Actuarial, Claims, and Finance to optimize profitability and growth.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of relevant underwriting experience.
• Preferred: Master's degree and professional designations (AICPCU or RPLU).

Mansioni

• Manages profitable underwriting book by applying decisions within authority and company guidelines.
• Develops and monitors action plans to improve underwriting results and portfolio profitability.
• Analyzes exposures using applications, internet sources, inspection and credit reports, coordinating with actuarial, claims and finance teams.
• Leads and coaches junior staff, and participates in broker and cedant relationships across the U.S.
• Travels to key accounts and represents the company at industry events and committees.
