Job summary

OneDigital is seeking an Actuarial Director to lead client-facing actuarial projects, develop advanced analytics and valuation tools, and guide senior actuarial staff. The role involves direct client interaction, project oversight, and cross-functional collaboration across health benefits portfolios.

The position emphasizes leadership, financial modeling, and excellence in communication to influence client decisions and optimize benefits strategies for large employer groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant actuarial experience.
• Experience leading and managing people.
• 3+ years building risk models.
• 3+ years of client-facing responsibilities.
• BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, finance, economics or related field.
• Expert level of proficiency with MS Excel (including VBA) and either R or Python.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and oversees execution of client data and analytics strategies.
• Conceives, plans and conducts actuarial studies.
• Ensures a financial forecasting system with accurate projections and variance explanations.
• Maintains and reports financial and statistical information to monitor cost and utilization trends.
• Determines methodologies for projects independently.
• Facilitates client meetings and internal team discussions.
• Leads development of client deliverables, including written documents.
• Manages timelines and delivery of client work.
• Ensures peer review of all work products and consulting reviews.
• Communicates project status to the team.
• Supports business development activities.
• Mentors staff and supports capability传 transfer of institutional knowledge.
• Assumes team leadership for hiring, coaching, and performance management.
