Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is seeking a Lead Business Analyst for Actuarial Commercial Lines within the Data Office in New York. You will translate actuarial needs into data engineering specs and manage product roadmaps with data engineers, acting as a trusted partner to actuaries and stakeholders.

You will lead Agile ceremonies, oversee backlogs, ensure data governance, and drive initiatives that align data strategy with business priorities in a global insurer environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis within insurance/financial industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science, data analytics, mathematics, or related field.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance actuarial concepts (reserving, pricing).
• Experience with data environments, ETL and visualization tools.
• Leadership of Agile teams and product backlogs.
• Excellent communication translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Actuarial credentials or exams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep, structured requirement sessions with senior actuaries to understand workflows, data nuances, and reporting needs.
• Facilitate alignment across actuaries and Data Office teams on priorities and timelines.
• Develop roadmaps for actuarial data and tool development and partner with data engineers.
• Lead Agile ceremonies and manage product backlog.
• Translate actuarial requirements into actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure data governance and quality with documentation for lineage, testing, and production changes.
