Job summary

Blue Cross NC seeks an Actuarial Data Systems Analyst to deliver technical data support for Actuarial financial data systems and data marts.

You will identify business requirements, develop data extracts, and support monthly validations to enable accurate financial reporting for Plan divisions.

You'll perform unit testing, document specifications, and provide ad hoc analytics to drive business goals across departments. A hybrid work arrangement and collaboration with senior teammates are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of experience in related fields.
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of related experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, design and testing of data sets delivered through the Actuarial data marts.
• Assist with monthly data refreshes, validations, and quality assurance checks to support financial reporting.
• Assist in developing decision support solutions including medical and pharmacy claim financial data builds, data extracts, reports, data mart tables, views and analysis.
• Provide support for multiple data application areas, including data definitions, usage and file structure, technical SQL code, and business rules.
• Identify best practices and implement them within the department.
• Support data analysis, system problems and incidents; develop recommendations and communicate actions and results.
• Provide data support to senior team members on at least one business project team and non-project activities.
• Perform unit testing; create sample data sets to validate SQL code/logic works as intended.
• Provide ad hoc analytics for departmental, divisional and corporate projects to meet business goals.
• Documentation - write system/technical specifications to ensure solution supports.
