Job summary

PEMCO is seeking a Data Scientist - Actuarial to conduct actuarial and predictive analyses supporting product development, rating, reserving, and system improvements. You will collaborate with product managers and actuaries to drive pricing strategies and financial analyses.

The role requires a BA/BS in Actuarial Science or related field, 3+ years in actuarial modeling, and proficiency with Python, R, SAS, and SQL. Knowledge of Radar/Emblem/ResQ is a plus.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field is required.
• 3+ years of actuarial and statistical predictive modeling experience.
• 1+ years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
• MS Office proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Proficiency with Python, R, SAS and/or SQL is required.
• Experience with Radar, Emblem, or ResQ is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for actuarial and product development.
• Conduct predictive modeling and multivariate analysis.
• Assist with development and implementation of rates, rating plans, pricing strategies, and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with product managers and actuaries on strategic decisions.
• Document workflows and business processes; build tools to create efficiencies.
