Job summary

PEMCO, a mutual insurance company, is seeking a Data Scientist - Actuarial to conduct actuarial and predictive analyses to support product development, rating, reserving, and system changes. The role partners with Product Team to deliver insights that drive pricing and financial performance.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field, 3+ years in predictive modeling, and proficiency in Python, R, SAS or SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• 3+ years of actuarial and statistical predictive modeling experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong analytical and data-driven problem solving; able to translate data into actionable insights.
• Experience with Python, R, SAS, or SQL for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct actuarial and predictive analysis to support product development, pricing, reserving and system changes.
• Develop and implement rates, rating plans, pricing strategies and financial analyses.
• Collaborate with Product Team and other units to deliver business solutions and document workflows.
• Translate complex data into clear metrics for strategic decisions.
