Job summary

Blue Cross North Carolina is seeking an Actuarial Data Systems Analyst to deliver technical data support for Actuarial financial data systems and Marts. You will identify business needs, build data extracts and reports, and ensure accurate data for financial reporting.

The role involves developing data sets for actuarial marts, performing monthly data refreshes, and providing analytical support across projects. A Bachelor’s or higher degree with 3+ years of related experience is typical.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in related fields.
• Experience with data systems and actuarial data or financial data environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, design and testing of data sets for actuarial data marts.
• Support monthly data refreshes, validations and QA for financial reporting.
• Develop decision support solutions including medical and pharmacy claim data builds and reports.
• Provide data application support, including SQL code structure and business rules.
• Identify and implement best practices within the department.
• Analyze data and incidents, propose solutions and communicate impacts.
• Support senior team members on business projects and tasks.
• Perform unit testing with sample data to validate SQL logic.
• Provide ad hoc analytical support for departmental and corporate projects.
• Document system/technical specifications to ensure solution support.
